SOLVE SUNDSBO
Solve Sundsbo is a Norwegian fashion photographer, he was born in 1970. Sundsbo work has been features in Love magazine, I-D, Numéro and Vogue. Sundsbø focuses a lot of his work on fashion photography and surrealism, most of his work is distorted in some way with it either being physically or digitally created. Most of his work is figurative using mainly people/portraits.
The photograph of two people in boldly dressed clothes is about not conforming to societies conditions, dressing wildly, men in skirts and makeup is not widely excepted in society and It doesn’t fit with the gender stereotypes which society puts on people. This piece goes against the stereotypes and connotes that everyone should be accepted for who and what they want to be. Rule of thirds and leading lines (on the clothes) are used to draw attention to their faces. Their faces show emotionless expressions, this could connote how worn down/drained they are by the pressures they are put under to fit in.
