This is a double page spread taken from my music magazine UNPLUGGED. UNPLUGGED is an indie music magazines aimed at young females, I chose to aim and feature females in this magazine as there are not many magazines which do this, I think this is good as I found a gap in the market which I thought would appeal to the audience. The brief when creating this magazine was to create a local (Sheffield) magazine, I fulfilled this by using artists from Sheffield, as I had zero budget for this magazine I used new bands and artists as part of this.
This artist Electra Rose is a female indie music artist, with her name being 'Electra' I decided to go with an electric blue theme throughout these pages, I also used this as the outfit she is wearing on the picture page consists of the same blue. I used the same blue border and text font throughout the two pages, this is because I want to create a theme and let the audience know it was the same person. For the picture page I chose a close portrait shot, this was to show the artists face, this is important as if one of her fans recognised her they are more likely to pick up the magazine and read the article. On the next page I chose a long shot of her whole body although this photograph was still close up, this was used to catch the audiences attention.
